Emigration
It was 2 weeks ago when Mum had her second hand operation. Today was the big day when the back slab plaster and the stitches were removed. The wounds look good and as if they should continue to heal well. (NB If she does not try to do too much too soon - note to Mum of course!)
We had a sandwich and tea in one of the cafes at the RVI. It's a noisy, busy place selling lots of high calorie foods. (The way of the world I guess.)
On our way out, I spotted this sculpture high on one of the corridor walls. It was hard to photograph because of all the reflections, but I thought it was worth recording. We have heard of an acquaintance who is so upset because she no longer feels secure in the UK and wonders if she and her family should leave. Very sad and there will be more.
I can't bear the current political charades - except they should not be playing games with each other and us.
Mum's cold is improving so I should be able to go to Austria on Thursday. I just need to pack tomorrow!
After the first operation, some blippers regretted that I did not show photographs of her surgery. If you are not squeamish, then you can see the operation sites in my extra. The surgeon's work is very neat and will leave very little in the way of scars.
