Obligatory Xmas Market Snap
I braved weather and crowds to venture into town today, not sure how often I'll be managing it again before the big day. I ended up having to wait in The Abbotsford with a nice pint of Stowford Press awaiting the Sun going down, which was a terrible drag of course.
I tested out my home made flash diffuser and it works a treat! Using the wireless remote allows the flash to be sideways on rather than direct from the camera and the diffuser gives some nice soft shadows. I might have to cover the inside with tin foil to increase the amount of light that goes out, though I'm not sure how much difference this will make. I built it with electricians tape so that I could easily unfold it to make a template. Gluing the foil inside should be easy. I've also had an idea for a mark II with detachable diffusers so I can try different colours and materials. My only real gripe is that it is too bulky and too flimsy to risk putting it in my backpack.
