Common Thistle (Cirsium vulgare)

An opportunity for a walk between the showers. I picked up this thistle and used it as an additional opportunity to shoot a focus stack with the new camera, using Helicon Focus.

It is incredible to see the level of detail when zoomed in. The original resolution of this image was 4,000 by 4,000 pixels before uplaoding. A 13 image stack, lit by a flash gun to the left and above.
