Buckfast Abbey

The abbey church was built in the 12th century but was destroyed in the reformation. In 1907 Benedictine monks started building a new church on the footprint of the old one, and more or less the same design. They started with virtually no money and only a handful of monks. The church was finished in 1932 - a fantastic achievement.
