Just One Cornetto

Armed with walking instructions - set off to find Mirano village square this morning

Went wrong - found the local hospital grounds were quite extensive - drivers park on zebra crossings - some have scant regard for pedestrians - sat down for a rest on a bench - to be joined by a little old lady - who wouldn't stop talking to us - until after some time - manged to interrupt to say we were English - she then promptly got up and moved away - finally found the square - worth the effort

Caught a bus and boat into St Marks Square - to join a walking tour of the square and surrounding area - including Doge's Palace, the Bridge Of Sighs and the Railto Bridge

Went into St Mark's Basillica - fantastic ceiling frescos - great deal of gold leaf used

Decided not to go into Harry's Bar - or have a Gondala Ride - or Cornetto - even though the song came to mind when we saw one
