Steps

First day wearing my new pedometer and surprised and pleased that I clocked up 11,825 steps. The only 'extra' thing I did was to walk up a flight of stairs in the metro, rather than take the elevator. Other than that it was a normal, but fairly active, day around the barrio - shopping for this and that in the food market, a heavier supermarket shop that will be delivered tomorrow morning, posting a birthday pressie to our goddaughter in Norway, up and down the stairs in our house, and we walked our bikes into our local place for a once-over too. We didn't use them last summer, but might this year.

Then in the evening we went into the centre to buy a new Hoover/vacuum. Sadly, not one of those lovely upright cordless ones that I had my eye on, as we didn't think an hour was quite enough charge to get around our house, and given that our new cleaning lady (first visit tomorrow) comes once a week, it would be silly not to get it all done in one go. The one we bought is a Samsung, a small, bagless canister type and seems much easier to handle than our current one and importantly weighs less - 3.5 kilos less.

Nice to be sitting on our clean, organised patio tonight. Bb did the final clean this afternoon while I went to the haidresser. Think we're ready for our visitors arriving from Scotland tomorrow evening. Just the roof terrace to get into action now...maybe tomorrow morning early before the sun hits it!
