Some people in need of yoga!

Woke early and had the usual banana porridge in Café del Mar. Packed the room up and jumped into our taxi. As we drove out of the resort had a real sense of ?leaving? as we have had such a lovely time here. It does feel odd to be leaving India now as we both kind of have it under our skin?even the man selling the drums isn?t annoying any more!

So we headed to the airport with heavy hearts and fearing for our lives with a taxi-driver Indian style of driving that we had not experienced before! As we headed through towards the airport you could see a heightened sense of security as there were quite a few security checks on the go. We, unsurprisingly, were not stopped once.

Arrived at a very calm Thivandrum airport and caught our Sri Lankan Airlines flight to Colombo. Had the pang of excitement again as we were off to venture to a new country, new sights, sounds, smells and fingers cross some sunshine!

Landed into Columbo to be met by lots of people everywhere, it?s funny how being away you notice different things. Me tour lovely driver who was to drive us the very traffic-laden journey to Unawatuna Beach.

First impressions were?wow traffic ? haven?t seen that for a while. Also the types of vehicles on the road: now we see all manor of cars rather than the usual combination in India of Ambassador Taxis, Tut-tuts and cows!
