The Egret

I am in a mood. I'm trying to get out of my own way but the hubby annoyed me to no end today. All I can say is thank God for birds.

I took off for Lenape Pond and spotted Harry v.5 snapping at dragonflies while his neighbor the white egret stalked the fish. I also spotted my first yellow Orioles of the season which brightened my mood considerably until a car pulled up on the gravel and they flew away. The driver needed to use the port-o-potty and he sounded drunk to me, that's the kind of mood I was in. HA! Anyway, there were two yellow Orioles and they were the bright spot in the morning.

I've posted more pictures on flickr if anyone is inclined to take a peek. Harry let me get within 15 feet of him here but the Orioles didn't although I got them in flight when the drunk peeing man bumbled into the scene. They're blurry but they're here and here and here..
