A Walk In The Woods

My brother and I managed to have a decent wander through Redburn Country Park this morning before the rain really got going. I'll admit to becoming temporarily lost at one point as I took a wrong turn but we survived intact, part from some netted stings. The goofy Blip selfie was taken on the way down the hill near the Bear Pit. Sir Robert Dunville, who formerly owned the land was an animal fan who kept a pet North American bear and other animals on the land. When he died in 1934, the animals were donated to the new Belfast Zoo at Bellevue. We followed our exertion with a nice lunch at Boden Park Coffee.
The extra shot of of some interesting trees  with a number of initials carved out on their trunks. Our next planned outing may be to walk along the Divis and Black mountains as far as Cavehill.
