Freebie...really?

I had to go back sooner to the hairdresser than my usual 6 weeks to get my hair cut. Bang goes the yearly budget since that will probably mean an extra that I hadn't budgeted for.
Then I bought his and her shampoos. He doesn't usually ask when I am going to the hairdressers but it came up twice in conversation recently until I discovered he only wanted a bottle of shampoo!
2 bottles of shampoo meant I qualified for a free towel! FREE the total bill was nearly double the original cut and blow dry. I took it and told the guy I'd think of him when I used it. I will, but not in the sense he hopes.
