Old Hersonissos
After breakfast we packed and said our goodbyes. We had a few hours, and I had a photo I wanted to get for a musician friend who's just released his second album; a wind up photo. I'd spotted it last week when we had friends in the car and it wasn't convenient to stop.
It wasn't far from our apartment, but there are roads everwhere, and as we drove away we entered Old Hersonissos village. We never knew it was there, despite it being so close to where we have stayed, twice! A walk around this quaint village saw us enjoy refreshements in a local bar where the friendly owner gave me a free beer! He was helpful in telling us the best places to stay when we return. The extra is of swallows we watched being fed by parents, when we were in the bar.
The main blip picture is of a delighful old door and seats in the main street of Old Hersonissos.
We stopped of in a mountain tavern in Stamnoi, near the airport for a quick greek salad, large jug of wine for Mrs BB and an iced coffee for me, with a basket of bread. Total cost £8!
A super end to a lovely holiday that was enhanced by two sets of friends being with us for the week.
