Day two The Hebrides Adventure,What a great start

Up early for breakfast , a full cooked with black pudding,
A chat with the owners whose ancestors lived here, in a croft near the sea,
They warned us of midges and strong blowing winds,
Then on our way down the Golden Road, through lunar landscapes dotted with sheep who take risks on the road just laying there a sleep,
Into the Mission House Studio at Finsbay, a wonderful building filled to the brim with ceramics and black and white photos and bits of this and that.
A chat with the Artist, an inspirational guy, and would you believe it had lived in Rosemarkie,
He got engaged in the Fairy Glen so we showed him David's Book, he liked it a lot and a copy was bought :)
On through the hills till St Clements Church was reached , A very old building full of wonderful carvings both inside and out,
The graveyard was covered in primroses and daisies , one lone sheep was nibbling away and wheatears with babies were gathering grubs,
Then with a jaw dropping view we had our first glimpse of the sands and the sea,
An amazing sight filled with yellows and blues,
Next a tea and a scone at Temple Café in Northton , sun shining brightly we sat outside listening to the birdsong and admiring the view.
A walk to the beach with just a few people there, then through the machair with buttercups and orchids.
Walks to standing stones and more wonderful beaches followed as we travelled onto Lewis,
Our Blackhouse found and cases unloaded, A cake stand full of home made treats awaited us,
On to a concert at the local village hall where we were entertained with fiddle and folk singing by Elsa Jean McTaggart,
One of the highlights of the evening was when she was joined by her mother playing the spoons,
Still light when we went to bed even though it was past midnight.
