Day at Duncarron

Visited a medieval fort at the top of Carron Valley reservoir today. Lots of very impressive, hairy, wild looking men stomping about making the ground shake with their drums and growls. Wonderful!

I had a fleeting notion to sell the house and all the family possessions and de-camp with the family to the Scottish Highlands to live like a medieval Scot. That was until hubby pointed out what he thought might have been the toilets. I am not peeing in a teepee.

Duncarron is open to visitors tomorrow as well. If you fancy throwing an axe, wielding a sword, shooting an arrow or just feeling the sound of the drums in the pit of your belly, I would absolutely recommend a visit.
