River Aln

A lovely day. Walked from Alnmouth to Warkworth along the Northumberland Coastal Path and back again. Very good for the step count and a great way to see the North Sea rolling in (extra).

On our return to Alnmouth had a stroll round some of the Art Festival venues. The picture is more or less the same view as yesterday but what a difference the sunshine makes. The cross on top of the hill marks the spot where the church used to stand. It was separated from the village in the nineteenth century when a huge storm changed the course of the River Aln and silted up the harbour.
