The Bramble Bush Bay
This evening we drove down to Swanage to spend a weekend with family. We chose the scenic route down through Marlborough and Salisbury. Near the end of the journey is the entrance to Poole Harbour where the Sandbanks Chain Ferry saved us from a 25 mile journey around the harbour.
After the short crossing we made a brief stop to take a photo of the ferry. The crossing was initiated in 1923 and the current boat dating from 1994 is named The Bramble Bush Bay.
We arrived at our destination in time for a fine meal before settling down in front of the TV to enjoy the Olympics Opening Ceremony.
