Foxglove and This Love
This foxglove, growing next to our woodshed, caught the early evening sun.
Foxgloves are used in the manufacture of digitalis, a drug used as a heart stimulant. The leaves have been widely used in folk medicine. Apparently they can also be infused and used in an organic spray to control a number of garden pests including sawfly larvae.
By the way if anyone happens to be interested, although I haven't yet got around to uploading the photos from our recent camp, one of our friends has uploaded some of the music to Youtube. Although we make a lot of music at our camps, we don't often record it. But this time around, we did. So here's a link to a Wildman duet...
This is This Love Will Carry Me, a Dougie MacLean song. I suggest you start it 45 seconds into the recording since there is a lengthy intro for a friend who is currently in hospital.
