Leaving Longyearbyen

Arrived in Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen in  the early hours and  stayed overnight in the comfortable Spitsbergen Hotel.  It may be June but here at 78 N it is a cold 4C and we are glad of our down jackets!   We toured the town visiting a very good gallery and museum and amazingly bumped into two friends from York.  We boarded the "Nordstjernen" in late afternoon and set sail on our coastal voyage.  After a good dinner we went ashore at Barentsburg, a coal mining village run by a Russian company.
