Making it the Best
We flew to Boston on Tuesday afternoon. My parents flew in from Los Angeles and we landed at the same time. Had a nice dinner then drove to my mothers hometown to visit her brothers. She comes frequently I come every summer. Had a wonderful visit - picked blueberries, ate fish and went to Plymouth to see the plantation and the rock.
Got up early this morning to make our 11:18 flight home. Would get me home in time to jump in the car and head to the lake in time to cook the wonderful fresh flounder I bought for dinner and make a blueberry dessert. Alas, the cards weren't in our favor. We had a mechanical that they nickel and dimed is on. There had been delays and cancellations from yesterday do there was nothing else available. We were able to get on a flight tomorrow morning and a hotel room at the Hilton (this was after already waiting 5 hours).
The girls were wonderful. Patient and understanding. We finally got our luggage, checked into the hotel and decided to go to Faneuil hall to walk around and get some fresh air. There was a carousel that the girls had to go on!
We are now sitting with a pizza waiting for the Olympic ceremonies to begin. We are all sad not to be home all together tonight - but unfortunately sometimes things happen that you cannot control.
Have a good weekend everyone.
