This is where the magic happens

Here is a pack mule! A High Sierra camp does not run without the very hard work of many of these animals. Virtually everything that comes in or out of camp goes by way of the back of a mule. That means food, linen, cleaning supplies, garbage, organic waste, bed frames, wheelbarrows, you name it. Exceptions include giant things like refrigerators and stainless steel countertops--these get dropped in by helicopter--and our own bodies--we have to use our feet for those.
