Get creative - with mud!

I had two visitors this afternoon from  Texas, Linda and Bill Franklin, who share my interest in working with mud and technology.

Linda is a watercolourist and she did a quick expressive portrait in mud of her husband ( see extra photo) while Bill, a college lecturer who also runs an online digital photography course for students,  makes hand- made books. He sees it as a way of making artefacts from the digital world.

What's more he demonstrated his process for me, taking one of my mud postcards and turning it into  a hand-made book (see extra photo).
We are now friends on Facebook and hopefully we will continue our conversation online. He is a firm believer in artists collaborating both for the support it offers each other and for helping to inspire and develope their own practice.
