Popeye's paradise

I noticed this field on the way into town today.  In the afternoon, while out walking, I met a farmer friend and he mentioned this crop.  It is the first local crop of spinach and something of an experiment.  I decided to go back and take a photo as I found the sea of green quite appealing.
