Torre pendente

We had a nice breakfast in the garden of our little hotel before walking along the Arno, past the Sunday market stalls to Piazza del Calviero to the square of miracles. By 10 am it was heaving with bus parties, but nice to see the torre still leaning. We walked back by some pretty gardens and a huge mural by Keith Harring. (Extras won't add today).

After a beer and sandwich at the hotel, we collected our bags and walked to the station. We changed trains in Empoli and Siena before finally arriving at Buonconvento. The only mishap was Jenny getting stuck in the lift with the bags at Empoli. Luckily for once the Siena train was late. We got a taxi to our Agrotirismo at Pieve a Salti where we stay for 3 nights. The scenery is stunning - beautiful rolling countryside, poplars, hilltop towns.

The weather is stormy but at least it is warm!
