Soaring

Finally got down to the beach again, at a reasonably early hour. Just as a variation on the usual shots of the sea and sand and distant hills, I tried to catch the frigate birds as they drifted by on the thermals. Not the usual constant stream, maybe I was a little late for that, but enough to keep me happy. They are so graceful and magnificent.

HH and I both had quite a bit of work on, and our lovely guest, Luke, offered to cook lunch for us – it was delicious.

Things went downhill after that, though when we heard that our caretaker, who has been unwell since last Saturday, had been rushed to the clinic again with what sounds like a stroke.  This time he was seen almost at once by a very attentive young doctor, but then had to wait for hours for an ambulance to take him to the hospital for a scan. Now he’s had the scan, but as we head for bed, they’re still waiting for the result to come through. We hope to goodness they’ll admit him to the hospital, but it’s quite likely they’ll send him home. Extremely worrying, and we’ll head up there as soon as we can get away tomorrow,
