Deer tails

We spent the whole trip convinced these were tongues on a string but it turned out they were actually deer tails.

My picture was actually of the Gastrodia elata shavings in the background. Gastrodia elata is an unassuming looking orchid that is used widely in traditional Chinese medicine for 'calming the liver' and for pain relief. And for other things. Everybody told me something different.
