Saracen's woundwort

After I'd picked up a hire car and my brother had successfully navigated his way back to ours from the hotel, we set out for a scenic tour. Arthur's Seat was a bit disappointing as it was very misty and raining ever so slightly - couldn't even see North Berwick Law. Or Fife! However, we trundled on and out to South Queensferry where we inspected the bridges (all three) and had a spot of lunch. On our way back I diverted slightly in order to visit Cramond, to show M and P the outline of the Roman fort in the kirkyard. As we were leaving I saw that the stand of Saracen's woundwort was coming up lush and green as ever (behind what looks like an information board - we didn't investigate due to P's difficulty with walking far). Maybe it explains that the plant is a Mediterranean species and maybe the Romans brought it with them....DaveH was once helping with a bit of excavation down there and was surprised by the arrival of a phalanx of small children from the local primary school dressed in costume with cardboard breastplates and armed with cardboard swords, doubtless doing a project about the Romans. They marched past him chanting in confident fashion "S.P.Q.R. - Do you know who we are?" :-)

The rabbit was a bonus.
