Evening Rose

Mottisfont Abbey, owned by the National Trust, holds the National Rose Collection, and on selected evening every June, the grounds are open until late to allow people to visit and enjoy the scents and relatively peace of the rose borders.

It's been a couple of years since I last visited, but having just moved to offices which are only 15mins away, I decided to take advange of the expenses paid for trip I'd already made to the area, and the warm sunny evening, to pay another visit.

The roses really need another week or so to reach their best, but there were still some beauties to be seen, and I especially enjoyed practising backlit shots in the golden evening light (a couple more in extras)
