Day in Inverness

A lovely excursion today for friend L. and me when we caught the coach from Perth to Inverness.  The weather was considerably cooler than yesterday, which was much more pleasant for our walk along the banks of the River Ness to the Ness Islands and back.

A very pleasant stroll, with a stop at "The Waterside" for an excellent lunch and plenty to see along the way, including sculptures in wood and stone as well as the lovely buildings that line the banks.

The highlight of our afternoon was a blipmeet with Houseonahill6 in a café near the bus station, which was far too short but it was lovely to meet her at last.  Many thanks for giving up your time to say hello to us Karen:-)

The return journey was somewhat marred by a delay of over an hour on the A9 because of a traffic accident just south of Dalwhinnie.  A van had somehow overturned and just hope that nobody was seriously hurt, although there were several police cars, an ambulance and at least two fire engines in attendance.  We felt really sorry for other passengers who had missed their connections because of the delay.

A few extra shots showing some of the views in Inverness.
