Hawkhill Avenue (just off it, on the Cycle Path)

A long forgotten one...

I remember stoatin' back from Bill's early one Sunday morning about this time of year. The rest had left and me and Bill had necked whisky and traded Neil Young and Iris Dement songs, interspersed with Caitlin Rose and someone else he rates and I can't remember.
Anyway rather than wait 45 minutes for a night bus and then another 45 minutes for the connecting night bus I just walked home; in about 45 minutes (and saved the £3.50 too)

I have a hazy recollection of seeing this one and making a mental note to seek it out, but like the name of the singer Bill so eulogised, it got lost in the haze of a hangover.

Until today. When I was sitting on the grass and I had a slow dawning that I was opposite a Cigs.

It's fairly faded, but not through overuse (this is part of an exercise route along the path;  there's various obstacles and exercises people can do for a work out. This one looks more like it's used by underage drinkers than the keep fit folks of Leith...

In Vanwatch news: The van remains unmoved. William Hills have suspended betting on it next turning up in Wick.

And I may have one for tomorrow. Stay tuned for another thrilling episode of Cigs....
