Albertine

The Albertine rose is part of my childhood as it grew over the front door of our family home. Imagine my pleasure when I found one when we moved into my present home. It is on a north facing wall but flourished during our first years here. Nearly fifty years on it is struggling a bit,, but today there are two lovely blooms and lots of buds showing. Albertine roses were bred in France in 1921.
We had a thunderstorm today at lunchtime which is why the Rose is covered in raindrops! Coco the cat was caught out in it and came home rather wet.
