Surprise

I toured the garden to survey the wind damage. There are leaves, twigs and even small branches all over the place. But the big surprise was a large fully ripe apricot beneath our little apricot tree. I had scanned the tree at intervals, hoping that this would be the first year it would fruit and had never spotted any apricots. With this new evidence I looked deep into the foliage and found two more lovely plump apricots, very well hidden! They are not yet ripe so we will have to wait a bit before we can try them, but we shared the first one!
