And so to home

Breakfast this morning was not quite up to the standard to which we have become over the last ten days or so. It has been a fairly slow start to the day but eventually we are ready to head back over to the airport to pick up a hire car. It is a FIAT Abarth, they look like a 500 but are very different in terms of the performance and driving experience.

We made it over to Lenno in something close to record time. In the stretch of narrow road from Argegno to Lenno we are lucky enough to have a large truck in front of us. Large vehicles automatically change the traffic light for oncoming vehicles to red, so we are able to tag along behind the truck secure in the knowledge there is no oncoming traffic.

When we arrived at the apartment the cleaners are just finishing the clean up after our “guests” last week. Finally we can unpack after the journey. We make a quick trip down to the supermarket when it opens in the afternoon.

In the evening we go down to the lake to have dinner at the Bar Golfo. I have hamburger and chips, which is a fairly typical Croatian meal, though with a different name. And so to bed.
