Hot and Hungry

More lovely weather today and before we packed up Matilda we took a last stroll along the dog walking path (sadly with no dog though) which takes you along the River bank.  We saw two little girls quietly and intently looking into the hedge.  When we looked over their shoulders, this is what we saw - 5 very hungry and hot little Blackbirds.  Had the parents deliberately built their home on the ground, or had the nest fallen out of a tree?   

We were glad when Dad Blackbird showed up and sat with his brood, eyeing us up a little warily but not showing any undue alarm.  I think the little girls (6 and 3) will grow up to be great wildlife enthusiasts!!  The parents were camping  and they all obviously all enjoy the outdoor life.
