Tall fields
When we came to the farm last year, it was mid-June and had been very dry, so the fields had all recently been cut short. Walking across them was something we did every day, several times, and the dogs had great fun. This time, as we're visiting later, the grass is quite high and it's also been a wet couple of weeks, so we've limited ourselves to the well-trodden pathway around the edges for fear of losing sight of the little ones in the tall grass, which is a pity. To the left of this field, the same trees shield an incredibly muddy wood, which we've chosen to trudge through instead of being bitten by disturbed insects. As yet, nobody has slipped and the squelching sounds of wellies being pulled out of deep mud and murky puddles is strangely satisfying.
