Taking care....
... Of B's plants. She has enjoyed looking after them, especially watching the fruit and vegetables grow. Little does she know that today is the last day she will do it. For tomorrow when we go, B is going to be there to surprise her for a welcome back breakfast. We are both excited to arrange it and Katie is going to be so thrilled!!
It was a mission to get her up and out this morning after yesterday's epic day. She wasn't a fan of the going back to school, though she's pleased to go back to band tonight after two weeks off. Band went well - her teacher came to see me after to tell me they'd been talking and wanted me to know how fantastically Katie is doing. Katie let slip today that she's confidently working in the upper register, for starters. They asked me to keep encouraging her because they definitely want to keep hold of this one!
As for tomorrow's surprise, little did we know but the carefully made plans were to fall apart! It turned out that in fact B was on the same train home as us after band. We walked out the train station and there she was! Whilst it was sad to not have the surprise for Katie in the morning, it was wonderful as B's journey had been long and terrible so seeing Katie proved quite the tonic for her. We had hugs, we helped her walk home with her luggage and the pair of them grinned at each other a lot. Katie chattered away to her. We walked her to the door and said goodbye, only Katie wouldn't leave as she wanted to take B inside to the surprises we'd left for her and to show her round the garden. We stayed 10minutes or so before we both told Katie that if she wanted breakfast she had to come home and go to bed super good - it was nearly 9pm already.
