Not an ugly duckling!

Up early, sat outside on the decking with a cuppa and my camera before 9.......a few gold finches, blackbirds, starlings, coal tits, but not a sharp shot amongst them......they are too fast!!

Anyhow, whilst the chicken was roasting we popped out for the papers, and came back via the lake, so I could see the ducklings again, then had a coffee, did the watering, scraped some Jersey royals, packed a couple of bags with salad stuff, and other things to take over to mums at lunch time.

We had dippy eggs and toast before we went.
It was 26 degrees when we got to mums....she was out front cleaning her front garden flags ! We sat outside most of the afternoon, chatting, watering, I cut back her red robin shrub, we had a really pleasant afternoon, light clouds took the edge off the heat.

We had roast chicken, jerseys, and mixed salad with coleslaw and honeys& mustard dressing, followed by raspberry roulade..... Mum ate everything and said well that was very lovely ;-)

We left a bit earlier than last week, as we had promised to stop off at daughters on the way home, as Emily wanted to give me my birthday card and present........we stayed there for an hour or so and got home about 8.30...... More watering before watching the final Wallander!

It's now almost midnight.............night all!
