Barefoot walk
A good sleep makes it all so much easier. We were in Cragside quite early and took a picnic. Thomas surprised me by asking to do the barefoot walk - he'd seen some bigger children doing it. We started on pebbles, then some logs, followed by rocks, tree branches and finally, mud. There was a tap and hose at the end so we got cleaned up - a bit of a waste of time as of course we had to go again.
James has been full on dashing about but I think he'll sleep tonight, happily reunited with parents in Whitley Bay.
Mr C has broken into his birthday gin - Hepple gin, from up the valley. It won a medal in San Francisco and is sold in Fenwicks and Harrods. So we are relaxing on the terrace, listening to the last of the motorbikes depart the valley. Cheers!
