Skaters
A trip to Lerwick in the morning, very good fishcakes for lunch in the museum cafe, a spot of shopping then home. The excellent nieces were here when we got home, so I walked with them to my sister's house, about a mile away. I love the variety of wild flowers to be found at the side of the road at this time of year - I saw monkey flowers, white and red clover, vetch, ragged robins, buttercups, forget-me-nots, orchids, bog cotton, marsh marigolds, bog asphodel and sorrel, plus the usual thistles and dandelions and loads of different types of grasses.
The nieces (Hannah on the left, Elsie on the right) returned later to give me a demonstration of their skating skills. Marvellous. I do wish I didn't live so far away from them.
