Hatteras Lighthouse

I had the water boiled and the coffee made, and was just sitting down to start frying the eggs and bacon when the most horrendous and soaking thunderstorm attacked. We packed our soggy selves into the car and went for breakfast, where I found only my second ever crab and cheese omelette. This one was even better than the last, as if that were possible.

A new bike rack for the car meant that we could bike to a different beach when the sun came out a short time later. It was a scorcher, the water was 20C, the waves were fun, the lighthouse was old and tall, the ice cream was outstanding, and all was perfect...until the torrential rain set in again around dinner time. So we had someone else serve us our clams and oysters and ceviche. Outstanding.
