Round the Wrekin

Today we had a wonderful 8.5 mile hike through woodland, up hills, around quarries and over reservoirs. Wonderfully varied scenery!

We started out in Wellington, through Limekiln woods, around Wenlock woods, around and then up and over the Wrekin, through and old Quarry and then over the Ercall. I've never been up the Wrekin before even though I've probably driven past it hundreds of times (it always means you're nearly home). The views were absolutely stunning even on a relatively overcast day like today. We did very nearly get blown off the top though.

We rewarded ourselves with a pint and then onto a lovely BBQ with the musketeers.

Tired and achey.

(I've had the jingle for 'The Wrekin Wrangler' going through my head all today - weirdly reminded me of being in the car growing up and mum always listening to Radio Shropshire).
