Elysium Fields
Thank you for rewarding Mondays big mountain day efforts with a place on the front page of popular, super pleased :)
Today started dull and grey - good motivation for getting a tedious but necessary task (the missing #1 from last week's list) done.
Fortunately just as forecast the sky turned blue around lunch, so I drove pooch up to Rigg End and we headed up onto Ravenstonedale Moor. Now that she's in her twilight years we don't walk far, so I like to try and make them as special as I can for her, and this is one of the places she likes to sing her song, and that will always be amongst my most favouritest things - so it seems like a good deal to me.
As we ambled along as ever I was oh so pleased to see the biodiversity of this upland area, campions, violets, cranesbill, avens, orchids and more could be found with a little looking, but somehow most impressive of all was the swathe of colour that the sun bright buttercups gave to the field.
