.....a high flying flag........

These arrived .....ready for Sunday's trip to the Olympic football at Old Trafford......a Union Jack because we are, after all, British....a New Zealand silver fern because we are supporting NZ against Egypt.....and a Brazil flag because how can you not support Brazil?

So Sunday....two matches....five hours.......and about an hour to get through security by all accounts.

Nothing much happened today....got up at 9.00 and ate a peaceful breakfast in the sun..........kicked around a bit and then went fishing. Got to the water to discover someone had invited some kids from the disaffected unit at the College so there was no where to fish. After about an hour a peg came vacant....it wasn't a good peg...but I sat down and set up anyway.

An hour passed with only tiny taps on the line......so I changedtactics.....shortened the depth to about 8 inches and switched bait to a single red maggot. Cast out....put the rod down on the feeder arm....fired in some maggots....and just as I was putting the catapult down.............the rod whipped over and bounced off the arm....and was heading into the water....fortunately the reel hit the t-bar and stuck....I managed to grab the rod.........the line was screaming off the reel....pulled and stopped the run.....rod bent double....it's only a 9 foot wand for light fishing....fifteen minutes later I landed........a 10lb Koi carp....black on it's back, bright orange belly.

Of course I didn't have my camera with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sam took a shot with his phone....some woman who was with the naughty kids took a shot.....ten minutes later she was showing me it on fb....claiming that she had caught it!

So...no picture......but it's the second biggest fish I've caught (apart fr0m cod)....and It was beautiful to see.

I'm a happy bunny.

Das vidanya moy padruga.
