Our young American visitors have not been very fortunate with the weather except for brief periods on Saturday and yesterday afternoon. Planned visits to St Andrews and the fishing villages of Fife and the beaches of East Lothian were abandoned due to the thick haar, but it was nice to see the sun appear by mid afternoon today. The Solomon’s Seal flowers were looking good with the backdrop of azaleas in Princes Street Gardens.
