Where we walk behind a waterfall.....

......have a fabulous dinner and Ella avoids getting arrested.

The second of our planned road trips today (and last, much to Daisy's relief) but we started off with a swim in a different pool. A bigger pool, 50m! I did 4 lengths then had to stop due to over heating- it all felt very claustrophobic and hot after a bit. I went down the slide at Will's urging - it was terrifying!! There was a bit where it was completely dark so you had no idea where you were going to go next. It wasn't helped that this was the point where Will caught up with me, I knew this because as I was tumbling down into unknown, complete darkness there was delighted giggling just behind by head which, I have to be honest, didn't really help matters. Sliding done, we tried out a variety of hot tubs- really we could only manage the coolest ones which were at a hot bath temperature - the 44 degree one just had a man lying down in it slowly poaching.

Then home to collect the girls and into the car to go to a new waterfall ( new to us obv, not the geographical area). We walked behind it, got soaked - it was kind of exhilarating. I know this is a kind of crappy shot but it was a brilliant thing. Also one of the first, later ones have the lens so covered with spray they are essentially a blur. After the waterfall fun, Daisy and I sat and watched the other three mountain goats skip and gamble up the mountain to a cave- nutters the lot of them but they were all very delighted with themselves after they scooted back down (Will and Esja on their bottoms). If all goes well, I'll add some extras of them.

Then we set off for our dinner appointment at the lobster restaurant recently visited by Rick Stein. It was simply lovely - first the nicest soup I have ever had and then a big pan of garlicky gorgeous lobster tails, website is here: http://www.fjorubordid.is/english/menu/
It's like Icelands Crab Shack, and I had beer brewed in the next town. It was bloody lovely ( the children had cheese and ham toastie/ chicken nuggets - ever so reminiscent of my childhood!)

Then a walk along the beach and back in the car to come home. OH, and before our dinner stop, Ella got pulled over by a policeman for speeding!! He was driving towards us, went passed us and then turned round in the road to chase us down. She was like a high speeding fugitive on the run! She did some fast Icelandic talking and then we were on our way. With the cop still on our tails. We pulled over, pretending to go into a shop so he could pass us and then spent the rest of the journey sticking to the speed limit with car after irate car over taking us as soon as they got the opportunity.

It was been fabulously sunny all day, Jay asked why I was bright red- I like to think of it as my Icelandic sun tan. We got home at 9pm, fair tired out even those of us who haven't been running up mountains.

Tomorrow is our last day (Will is looking forward to seeing Rosie, most missed Icelandic thing will be his vibrating bed.....). We will spend it not in a car, instead buying tasteful souvenirs, eating ice cream and perhaps one more trip for public naked showering.

PS I give up on the extra shots, they will have to wait for a computer when I am home.
