Popping up all over the place!

We both slept well...hub was still dozing when I got up.

I'd decided to make a Pork Apple and Sage slow cooked one pot dish as it was easily transportable, as was the cheesy mash :-)
Once the casserole was in the oven, I took hub a cup of tea.

Once we were ready, we walked to the shop for the Sunday papers, then went along the top road to the farm for potatoes, onions and eggs, I guess, about 3 miles in all.......what a gorgeous morning it was too!

We had a coffee in the garden, whilst having a quick flick through the Sunday magazines. Then some watering was needed before we grabbed a quick sandwich for lunch.

We loaded the car with dinner, along with my camera, the Sunday papers and a semifredo dessert of raspberries, lemon zest topped pistachios and headed to mums for the afternoon/ evening.

When we arrived Mum had Michael Bolton blaring on her stereo and was just making a sandwich and a cuppa so we joined her with a cuppa. We spent most of the afternoon sat in the garden chatting, watching the adult blue tits working in shifts, in and out of mums nesting box. There sounds as though there are several chicks, judging by there chirruping! I did take quite a few shots of them but they weren't very good! I untangled one of mums clematis and made a cane wigwam for it to grow up and gave her roses a squirt with an insecticide as there were still a few green flies around.

Once we went inside, the CDs were back on again ;-) mum chatted with hub whilst I put the finishing touches to diner.....some sliced apples fried in butter, with crispy sage leaves to top the casserole. I think Mum enjoyed her dinner and dessert.....I'm under strict instructions to get one for her next time I see them in Lidl ;-)

We left mums around quarter to eight, got home about 8.30, giving me enough time to take this shot of one of several wild poppies that are popping up in the flower beds, we really like them, and do some watering before settling down to watch wallander :-)
