Remuneration

£0.19. Not a lot granted but more than I thought I'd get when I made the request.

Picture the scene. A busy Sunday lunch dinner table with the usual conversations, bickering and tears (and that's just Mrs A and I) with the in laws. The wee nephew and niece squabbling over something or other. Then there was a twist from the norm, a big twist.

The young Niece hadn't eaten a great deal of her dinner and the usual threats of no dessert if she didn't at least try and attempt it blah blah blah until I stepped up and threw a curve ball into the game. If you don't eat the rest of your dinner, I said, you owe me money, from your piggy bank, as we bought the entire meal. No, no - no tears just cash please....

Up she got, climbed the stairs, rustled around, came back down and laced my palm with £0.19.

Not exactly fully reimbursed but lesson learnt....
