Old and New

I quite like the new Goethe Institute building here in Cairo. We've watched it being built for a couple of years now. The main part can be seen in the flame tree blip linked to below. I think the effect of combining the old and the new with the palmy garden here is very effective. The blockiness is quite Egytpian as is the hint of moon and stars in the fret work.
