Feeding out

We dried our cows off for the winter last Tuesday.  No more milking for them until they start calving anytime from August to October.

I haven't been on the farm for quite a while, so I went feeding out with Farmerboy this morning.  After two weeks of (just about) solid rain, the ground is drenched - and muddy, especially where the cows have been in their paddocks.  We've had about 300mm of rain in the past 14 days - and not one frost so far this year. 

It's been a nice relaxing weekend.  I've done some baking this afternoon, and now I'm about to sit down and read my book.  A perfect way to end the day.
