A Grand Day Out!

A real day out today.  Bolton Abbey in the morning, a good explore of the ruins, the beautiful stained glass windows in the church, a good chance for Ollie to have a good run in the park down by the river and sunshine to boot!  

After lunch we took the steam train to Embsay.  Absolutely brilliant!  Lots of nostalgic reminiscences from the pair of us!  The joys of train travel when it was a corridor train with a proper buffet car and a viewing platform at the back!   It was a wonderful experience, even Ollie loved it, riding in First Class, being fussed by everyone.  

A last wander around Knaresborough in the evening before heading off in the morning.  It is a lovely spot, and an place to base yourself to see lots of other interesting bits of North Yorkshire.
