Day 3: Hexham to Durham

Today was one of our shortest days so we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast before setting off. There were still some significant climbs - 13% just after Ebchester, which seemed to last forever, notably, when I had a short sense of humour failure - but it was followed by an exhilirating downhill to Lanchester. We met Kate, Nigel and the girls in Lanchester and cycled together to theirs, picking up Helen and Kevin who were joining us too! Unfortunately, Helen could not stay with us very long so we didn't manage to catch up properly.
Back at Kate and Nigel's, we had lunch outside in the sun, then went for a walk down to the river and spend the rest of the afternoon reading.
