Imposing

Silhouetted against the evening sun, the world’s largest liner, the Harmony of the Seas is an imposing sight as she sailed on her third shakedown cruise voyage from Southampton.
But she will be back on Sunday ready to begin her maiden voyage to Barcelona where she is due on June 5.
The ship capable of carrying 6,780 passengers and her 2,100 crew will then officially launch her inaugural summer season with the first of 34 seven-night sailings in the Mediterranean.
Then in November Harmony is due to cross the Atlantic to her homeport of Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, Florida from where she will begin seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings. The newest member of the Royal Caribbean fleet will join sister ships Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas, in Port Canaveral and Port Everglades respectively, on the east coast of Florida.

In the meantime the cruise company has signed a seven year deal to base ships in the city with Southampton port and is to contribute more than £5 million to developing the cruise terminal. Estimates suggest the agreement could be worth more than £200 million to the city economy over the seven years.
